Export format: IFC / DXF
DXF works today as an underlay to model over. Native IFC is in progress and is being held back until it round-trips properly.
How it works
- Export DXF and link it into Revit as an underlay, then model walls over the linework.
- Units are millimetres, and the geometry is exact — dimensions measured off the underlay are the real ones.
Worth knowing
IFC is not shipped yet, and that is deliberate. Revit silently drops walls when an IFC has no IfcBuildingStorey, and that failure is not visible to schema validation — so it needs a genuine round-trip test in Revit before it goes out, not a green validator.
