PlanForge for AutoCAD

Export format: DXF

Export a solved plan as DXF and open it straight in AutoCAD, with walls, rooms, openings and dimension text already on AIA-style layers.

How it works

  1. Generate a plan, then choose DXF from the download row.
  2. Open the file in AutoCAD. Units are millimetres — the file declares $INSUNITS = 4.
  3. Layers arrive as A-WALL-EXTR, A-WALL-INTR, A-DOOR, A-GLAZ, A-AREA-IDEN and A-ANNO-DIMS.
  4. Walls are drawn as two face lines at true thickness, not a single centreline.

Worth knowing

The DXF is AutoCAD R12 ASCII — deliberately the most widely readable flavour rather than the newest.
